Duct tape dresses are very uncomfortable.

My friend and I decided we wanted to make duct tape dresses to wear to the first football game of the season. It ended up raining and I had to work, so we just pushed it back to the second game of the season (but our first conference game!) against Georgia.

They looked great, but all I have to say about it is never again.

We made the dresses a few days before the game and neither of us had ever done it before. Turns out we did it wrong.

What we did:
1) Wrapped ourselves in tin foil. The duct tape has to stick to something!
2) Wrapped the tin foil in duct tape (which took forever).
3) Cut down the back of the duct tape dress to get it off and save it for later. They still kept our shape!

The day of the game, we just put the dresses back on and taped up the back. It was pretty awesome!

The black tape on the back is where we cut them off and taped them back on again.
Then we realized we couldn't sit down. Or go to the bathroom. And also tin foil does not feel good against the skin. I looked up directions online after we made these (a little out of order, I know) and it turns out you're actually supposed to use cloth, not tin foil. It makes perfect sense, I don't know why we didn't do it. That alone would have improved the situation about twenty times.

Anyway, struggle number one was getting into the car and driving to the game. Luckily, my friend could sit down more easily than I could and she was the one driving. My dress was too tight, so I was scrunched up weird in the passenger seat because the seat wouldn't recline and I couldn't breathe right.

Struggle number two came as we were waiting in line to get into the stadium and the hot sun was beating down on us. The dresses were super hot, we couldn't sit down still so we were stuck standing, and the tin foil was starting to get really irritating.

Struggle number three would have been going to the bathroom. The only way to get the dresses off would be to cut them off, so using the bathroom was pretty unrealistic. THANKFULLY neither of us had to go!

When we finally got home at the end of the game (which we ended up losing) we ran straight for the scissors and cut the dresses right off. Our moods improved significantly. Despite the hardships, though, we still had a great time. Our dresses got so many compliments and we even got interviewed by a reported from Channel 9 in Kansas City! I don't think we made it on the news, though, because I looked for the story and couldn't find anything.

The moral of the story is do not make a duct tape dress with tin foil and make sure it is not too tight and you can still move and sit down.
